Writing Reviews

For the third trimester our writing is going to be centered around opinion writing. We started by writing about collections from home and around our classroom. We have now moved on to writing reviews about places we have been and things we like or dislike. For example the kids can write a movie review, restaurant review, game review, etc. The kids are doing a great job and seem to really enjoy sharing their opinions. As the kids complete their reviews we are going to publish them right here on the blog like the paper below. Please share your comments with us! Do you agree with our opinions or do you disagree?

Our School Libraries Make Us Happy!

Our amazing library media specialist here in West De Pere, Mrs. Zuraski, made a video to help us celebrate library month. This video shows how HAPPY our libraries make us here at Hemlock Creek (Westwood too!). The video even made the WBAY news as the viral video of the day! Watch to see if you can find your child dancing in the library! :)

Barnes and Noble Book Fair

Today Hemlock Creek held a book fair fundraiser at Barnes and Noble. There were many HC students that stopped by for a story and books. Our very own Paige and Josh stopped in while I was there. They even got to meet Beckett!

West De Pere Reads Across America with New Jersey!

This morning our classroom got to "hangout" with a first grade classroom in New Jersey through the use of Google Hangouts! It was an awesome experience and we had a great time! To hear the story I Can Read With my Eyes Shut by Dr. Seuss and to hear our discussion please watch the video below!

Frozen "Let it Go" With Disney/Pixar Voices

Pete the Cat

This morning our class went to the library to listen to a story read by Ms. Zurawski. The story she read was called Pete the Cat and His Magic Sun Glasses. Building for Kids Field Trip

As you know Mrs. Johnson and the kiddos went to the building for kids in Appleton last week. While they were there the sent me the pictures below. It looks like they had a great time! :)
