Last week on Friday we had a writing celebration in our classroom. The kids collected all of their personal narrative writing from the first trimester and put it into their portfolio. They then went around the room reading their books around the classroom. They could read to each other or to anything else in the room they would like. We also named our class pet "hamster" and wrote a story about him. Below are pictures from the day. We will now be moving on to informational writing and teaching books. The kids have really been enjoying writing this year and they are doing a fantastic job! I look forward to seeing what they can do next!!!

Pumpkins!
This morning we had a guest speaker come in to teach us all about pumpkins! The kiddos learned all about why pumpkins are healthy and even got to try some roasted seeds. They also made some seasoning for pumpkin seeds you can try at home!

Field Trip - Heritage Hill
Last week on Wednesday we went on a field trip to Heritage Hill State Park. It was a chilly day but we had a great time. We were there for the Belgian Farm tour staged in 1905. The kiddos got to turn corn in to corn flour, turn cream into butter, learn about immigration, and life on the farm in 1905. Below are pictures from our day!
